Lavender Lemonade Recipe - Sweetened with Honey
Prep Time: 15 minutes minutes
Servings: 0.5 gallon
- 2 Cups Lavender Tea
- 6 Medium Fresh Lemons
- 6 Cups Cold Water
- 1/2 Cup Honey
- Ice cubes for serving optional
- Fresh Lavender Sprigs or Fresh Lemon slices for garnishing
Prepare the Lavender Tea: Use 2 tablespoons of organic culinary lavender buds and steep them in 2 cups of boiling water for 10 - 15 minutes. Use a fine mesh strainer to separate the lavender buds and tea. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature or chill it in the refrigerator for a faster cooling process.
Juice the Lemons: While the tea is cooling, take your lemons and roll them on a flat surface to make them easier to juice. Cut them in half and squeeze until you have about 1 cup of lemon juice.
Mix and Sweeten: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled lavender tea, fresh lemon juice and 4 cups of water. Stir in 1/2 cup of honey until well dissolved. For best results, us a whisk to ensure the honey integrates smoothly with the other liquids.
Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the lemonade for at least an hour to enhance the flavors and serve it cold. Add ice cubes directly to the pitcher or to individual glasses. Garnish with a sprig of lavender or a slice of lemon.
