ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Stephanie!
Owner, crafter, photographer, content creator, designer and blogger here at Returning Grace Designs.
The Returning Grace Journey
I started sewing in 2012 to hem pants for my three boys, but quickly shifted my focus to home decor projects like pillow covers, curtains, and upholstery. Over the years, I crafted numerous home decor items and gifts, refining my skills. In 2016, I launched an Etsy shop, and Returning Grace was born. As orders grew, my husband Skip joined me full-time, and together we expanded from sewing at our dining room table to managing a full workspace.
With Skip’s help, I introduced a blog, social media, photography, and content creation, which have become central to our creative business. In 2024, I became an American Farmhouse Style Brand Ambassador, collaborating with the magazine on exclusive social media and print projects.
It’s been an incredible journey, with God’s plans surpassing our own. We cherish the graces and blessings in our lives and strive to pass them on through our business. As Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us, “Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my plans than yours.”
About Our Home:
Skip and I, middle school sweethearts, have been married for 24 years and are blessed with three sons: Jack, Ethan, and Carter. We also have two German Shorthaired Pointers, Cooper and Beaux. As lifelong Louisiana residents with a large extended family nearby, our roots run deep.
My love for decorating started early. I would browse through my mother’s magazines, dreaming of decorating my own home. I collected pages of my favorite styles, inspired by those magazines. In 2018, I joined social media to promote my handmade business and began sharing more about my home and life, revealing a world beyond my wildest dreams.
While others seek grand neighborhoods, I find inspiration in historic Main Streets. Though our home isn’t historic, we’ve infused it with classic American and European farmhouse and cottage influences. I adore neutral tones with rustic wood elements and seasonal color pops.
In 2021, we began transforming our starter home into our forever home. This home, where we started our lives together, is now a true reflection of us, renovated entirely by our own hands. I’m excited to share our ongoing projects as we continue to make this home our own!
