Dining Room

Starting in the dining room, I couldn’t wait to showcase my mix of vintage and new cabbageware pieces. Cabbageware is the epitome of Spring cottage core décor, with its fresh, earthy tones and charming designs. I added new pieces this year, like the plates and tea set, mixing them in with my vintage Holland mold ceramic cabbage bowl and lettuce leaf bowls. Even though the pieces aren’t all vintage, they work well together, creating a cohesive look on a budget. Collections take time, and mixing in new pieces with vintage ones is a great way to achieve the look you want.

I also swapped out my art prints for a bunny print and a floral cottage scenery print. These made such a huge difference in setting the tone for Spring. Using open-back frames and inexpensive printable art is such a fun way to transform the space without breaking the bank.

Spring is all about tulips, and these peach and white faux tulips were the perfect centerpiece and pop of Spring color! Their soft hues bring a cheerful yet calming touch to the dining room.

Kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of our home, and with just a few simple touches, I gave it a Spring vibe! I added my jadeite collection pieces to the open shelves, which subtly introduce green to the space.

For the centerpiece, I added a few décor pieces like this fun rabbit and more jadeite. I love having a sweet treat on hand for guests and added some Bunny Bait Snack Mix to an airtight container so it’s always fresh for snacking. These simple touches help make the kitchen feel extra inviting on a Spring day.

Living Room

In the living room, I had so much fun creating lots of Easter and Spring-themed décor! My overall theme was a Peter Rabbit/Storybook theme, and I’ve always loved incorporating elements from my favorite books into my home décor. I have a small collection of Easter storybooks and wanted to showcase them, so I used one of my favorite craft supplies—book pages!

For the space, I made book page decoupaged eggs for the coffee table and larger ones for the mantel. I also made book page bows to dress up my boxwood bunnies. I used one as a bow and one as a bow tie to give the bunnies a fun whimsical feel. I also used book pages to create this book page flower garland. This garland is so easy to make and can be used in so many ways. You’re going to see it around here long after Easter!

For the TV art, I chose a whimsical cottage garden picture that tied the space together.

On the coffee table, I added more decoupaged eggs in a vintage cabbageware bowl, a Spring faux flower arrangement in a simple white vase, DIY gold rabbit candlesticks, and a few more Spring storybooks.

I also love to have seasonal pillows incorporated into my décor, and I made this no-sew rabbit appliqué pillow cover. You can read more about it here and download the free printable!

I added my faux eucalyptus tree to the corner of the room in a vintage thrifted barrel to give the illusion of bringing some of the outside leaves and branches inside.

Greenhouse

A view through open double doors into a bright greenhouse with wooden tables, benches, potted plants, a ceramic rabbit statue, and floral arrangements. Sunlight streams in, highlighting the cozy rustic decor.

And speaking of outside, the greenhouse got a fun refresh for Spring too! I created a simple tablescape with mint green and white dinnerware to complement the fun jadeite green paint in the greenhouse. For the centerpiece, I added a few stems from my blooming Peggy Martin roses to a simple wood vase. Brass candlesticks are always the perfect way to set an instant elevated romantic mood. The showstopper in this space is the adorable bunny! His sweet little face is an instant mood booster! I think I’ll have to keep him around for a while here in the space. Our entire backyard is getting a major makeover, so stay tuned for the reveal!

Flower Garden

Moving to the front flower garden, these Peggy Martin roses are bursting with bright pink blooms! These roses are so easy to grow and have definitely stolen my heart! We’re planting more throughout the yard and hope to propagate more for next year.

Tips for Styling Spring Décor

  • Mix Vintage and New: Don’t be afraid to blend new and vintage pieces together. Vintage collections take time, so adding in newer pieces will help achieve the perfect place look while keeping your budget in check.
  • Simple Centerpieces: Faux tulips or any fresh Spring flowers make a great focal point for your dining or coffee table. They instantly add color and life to the room.
  • Book Page Crafts: If you love DIY crafts, try using old book pages to create fun and whimsical décor items like bows, garlands, and even decoupaged Easter eggs. They add such a personal touch to any space.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do you keep your faux tulips looking fresh year after year? A: Faux tulips are incredibly easy to maintain! Just give them a gentle dusting every now and then, and they’ll look as good as new. You can also lightly steam them to remove any wrinkles.

Q: Where did you find your vintage cabbageware pieces? A: I’ve been collecting them over the years from thrift stores, antique malls, and estate sales. Sometimes a mix of vintage and new items can create a more affordable and cohesive collection.

Q: How can I recreate the Peter Rabbit theme in my living room? A: Incorporate some classic storybooks and use book pages for DIY décor like garlands, bows, or decoupaged eggs. A few plush bunnies or vintage-themed prints can help tie everything together.
